The Conservatory at the Barbican

Christmas in the Kitchen? Not for the Searcys Chefs…Delve into the Barbican’s tropical glasshouse this year and discover a whole new Christmas experience. This winter our chefs will be escaping from the kitchen and taking centre stage! Watch, learn and savor as they share their secrets in the Searcys Chef’s Theatre.

Guests will be encouraged to explore all areas of our enchanting indoor garden; home to exotic finches, giant koi carp, terrapins and over 2000 species of tropical plants, to experience the culinary action that would normally take place behind the scenes.

Find out what makes our blinis so light and fluffy? Why is our salmon smoked in a 150 year old red brick kiln? Oyster shucking, live cooking, hot stone carving. Sample mouth watering canapés and enjoy unlimited drinks all night long. This, all set to the backdrop of live jazz music and 10000 twinkling lights…. Simply Magic.
