Old Billingsgate is an extraordinary and unique venue, situated in a prime position on the River Thames with views across to Tower Bridge, London Bridge and the South Bank.
A fantastic clear open space combined with modern architecture makes it the perfect venue for all types of corporate and private events. The elegant nineteenth century Grade 2 listed structure has been sensitively refurbished by Lord Rogers to provide approximately 7,800 sq m (84,000 sq.ft) of flexible high specification space.
The venue will comfortably hold up to 2,400 people for a buffet and up to 1,100 for a seated dinner.
Guests arrive straight into the outside reception area with its stunning views over the River Thames to the historic Tower Bridge.
Reception drinks will be served in this area which will be enclosed by traditional white picket fence with wooden garden furniture and lush green plants completing the summer feel.
Should the weather be unfavourable, the east arch of the main hall will be used as the reception area. Gentle atmospheric lighting along with a large central bar and poseur tables will fill this area. The mezzanine level is available for a VIP reception, additional dining space or a chill out/games area.
A large fabric divide will be hung under the central mezzanine to create the definition between the reception area and the dining room. Guests will be called through to dinner at which time the curtain will open to reveal a visually spectacular dining room with
the main feature being the stunning stage set. Tables will be laid with linen and table centres which will be lit from above with the very latest in intelligent lighting systems.
The stage will be located centrally against the west wall and includes two projection screens and a clean contemporary backdrop.
The dance floor is directly in front of the stage and a full nightclub rig will be incorporated to come alive after dinner. The stage is ideal for speeches, bands and award ceremonies.
All drinks during dinner will be delivered to guests tables, however we will be installing a large bar in the east hall for guests to utilise after dinner. This will also make an ideal area for additional entertainment and games.
Toilet facilities are integral to the venue and are located in the east hall.
We will be installing a full kitchen in the basement with service points located upstairs adjacent to the dining area.
A full cloakroom with all furniture will be custom built into the entranceway of the build
